The Flyers took advantage of the Penguins' shootout struggles, winning a pair of skills competition games, first on Oct. 28 at the Xfinity Mobile Center, 3-2, then on March 7 at PPG Paints Arena, 4-3. The Penguins won their games in regulation, beating the Flyers 5-1 on Dec. 1 at Xfinity Mobile Arena, and 6-3 at PPG Paints Arena.
