Bend Park and Recreation District is preparing to move some of its operations and planning staff into a new facility along Boyd Acres Road near Empire Avenue. The district is seeking public feedback through an online survey to help name the approximately 5-acre site, which will serve as the new hub for Park Services, Park Stewards, and Planning & Development.

Why it matters

Engaging the community in the naming process allows local residents to have a voice in how this new public facility is identified. The name selected will help shape the identity and character of the site for years to come.

The details

The former City of Bend facility was purchased by BPRD in 2025 and will undergo improvements in the coming months before staff begin moving in during June. The district is asking survey takers to choose from a list of name options or submit their own suggestions, which will be reviewed by a Naming Committee before the BPRD board of directors makes the final decision in June.

  • The public survey is open through April 24, 2026.
  • The Naming Committee will review suggestions in mid-May 2026.
  • The BPRD board of directors will make the final name decision at a June 2026 meeting.
