Twelve area high school seniors were awarded a Children of Members Scholarship from Midwest Electric, Inc., with two first-place students receiving $1,500, two second-place students receiving $1,000, two third-place students receiving $750, and six honorable mention students receiving $500 each toward their college education. Additionally, the $1,500 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship was awarded to a student planning to attend a technical college or trade school.

The 12 scholarship winners were selected from applicants across several area high schools, including New Bremen, Wapakoneta, St. Marys Memorial, Shawnee, Lincolnview, St. Henry, Fort Recovery, and Marion Local. The winners plan to study a range of subjects, including health science, biochemistry, agronomy, chemical engineering, exercise science, accounting, pre-vet/animal science, speech pathology, aerospace engineering, education, physical therapy, and computer science. The $1,500 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship was awarded to a student from St. Henry High School who plans to study cosmetology at the Ohio State Beauty Academy.

A St. Henry High School senior who won the $1,500 Touchstone Energy Achievement Scholarship to attend the Ohio State Beauty Academy and study cosmetology.
