On March 29, a man reported to North Olmsted police that two bicycles ridden by his sons were stolen from outside the Macy's department store. The boys had left the bicycles unlocked when they went into the mall around 3:30 pm, and discovered them missing around 4 pm. The man estimated the total value of the bicycles at over $1,800. Police searched the area but could not locate the bikes. However, the family later found both bicycles around 7:15 pm near the skate park behind the North Olmsted Recreation Center on Lorain Road. In a separate incident on March 30, officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Marc's store in the Great Northern Shopping Center. A loss prevention officer had detained a former employee who had concealed 16 items valued at over $63 in reusable bags without paying.
