Chafin, who has a career 3.35 ERA in 643 MLB appearances, spent Spring Training with the Minnesota Twins but was released when he didn't make their Opening Day roster. The 35-year-old reliever is coming off a strong 2025 season in which he posted a 2.41 ERA across 42 appearances with the Nationals and Angels.
Why it matters

He has pitched for a number of MLB teams over his career, including the Nationals, Angels, Diamondbacks, Tigers, Cubs, Athletics, Rangers, and Brewers. Despite his age, Chafin remains an effective reliever, averaging 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings in his career.
