A cubist interpretation of the strategic decisions facing the Browns as they look to add receiving talent through the NFL Draft.Cleveland TodayThe Cleveland Browns have two first-round picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, but they could still add depth at wide receiver on Day 2. Here are five wide receiver prospects who could be available in the second or third rounds and fit the Browns' needs.
Why it matters
The Browns are looking to bolster their receiving corps through the draft, and landing a talented wideout on Day 2 could pay dividends. With their premium picks, the Browns have a chance to build a well-rounded offense to support their young quarterback.
The details
The five receivers highlighted are Chris Bell (Louisville), Elijah Sarratt (Indiana), Deion Burks (Oklahoma), Malachi Fields (Notre Dame), and C.J. Daniels (Miami). Each player offers a unique skillset, from Bell's size and explosiveness to Burks' athleticism in the slot. The Browns will be evaluating which receiver best complements their existing offensive weapons.
- The 2026 NFL Draft will take place from April 24-26.
The players
Chris Bell
A 6-foot-2, 220-pound wide receiver who had 917 yards and six touchdowns on 72 receptions as a senior at Louisville in 2025.
Elijah Sarratt
A 6-foot-2, 210-pound receiver who spent two years at Indiana after starting at FCS school St. Francis (Pa.) and one season at James Madison. He made the All-Big Ten second team and caught an FBS-high 15 touchdowns with 830 yards on 65 receptions in 2025.
Deion Burks
A 5-foot-9, 188-pound slot receiver who spent three years at Purdue before the last two at Oklahoma, where he finished with 620 yards and four touchdowns on 57 receptions in 2025.
Malachi Fields
A 6-foot-4 receiver who played four years at Virginia before finishing up last season with Notre Dame. He scored five touchdowns with 630 yards on 36 receptions, leading independents with 17.5 yards per reception.
C.J. Daniels
A 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver who spent six years in college, including four at Liberty before the last two at LSU and Miami. He put up career-best numbers at Liberty in 2025 with 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns on 55 receptions.
What they’re saying
“While Texas A&M's K.C. Concepcion has sometimes been projected to the Browns at pick No. 24, let's not assume he will be available in the second round. In fact, ESPN's Pete Schrager projected Concepcion to Cleveland at No. 24 in his early April mock draft.”

“Bell, though, should still be there on Day 2. Pro Football Focus ranks him right behind Concepcion and notes it likes his 'blend of size — particularly weight — and explosiveness as a WR2 in a vertical offense.'”
— Matt Goul, Author
“Sarratt should be the second receiver off the board from the national champions this weekend, following Omar Cooper Jr., who could go in the first round. PFF called Sarratt a 'below-average athlete for an NFL 'X' receiver,' but noted it likes his hands and star potential.”
— Matt Goul, Author
“Fields' 'Wins at the catch point, plays through contact, expands the strike zone for his QB. That length puts him right on the edge of that top tier of big-bodied WRs in this class.'”
— Lance Reisland, cleveland.com writer
“Daniels already turned 24 years old, making him one of the oldest prospects in this draft. PFF noted that Daniels 'represents a traits-over-production profile and, in his current form, offers contributing NFL ability through his suddenness, elite contested-catch production and feisty blocking — albeit with limited long speed and yards-after-catch output.'”
— Matt Goul, Author
What’s next
The Browns will evaluate these receivers closely leading up to the draft, looking for the best fit to complement their existing offensive weapons. Their premium picks in the second and third rounds will be crucial in determining the success of their 2026 draft class.
The takeaway
The Browns have a chance to add a talented wide receiver on Day 2 of the draft, which could be a key factor in building a well-rounded offense around their young quarterback. These five prospects each offer unique strengths that could make them valuable additions to the Browns' receiving corps.
