What they’re saying

“We were dialed in. Going back to the first game, obviously we had some self-inflicted wounds. We didn't close that one and we wanted to finish. This is a game we wanted to win by double digits and not leave any doubt. The guys stepped up and handled business on the defensive end and took care of the ball.”

“Javontae is a hard cover for anybody. (For a) freshman (defender), he's probably a hard cover and he's a spectacular player, don't get me wrong. There were certain matchups that we felt we could pursue a little bit. We do that in general as part of our offense. We stuck to the gameplan. They were some things offensively that we wanted to do. The guys did a good job executing and staying focused and we're happy with the result.”

“We practice that in different types of situations. They can switch and whoever that smaller guard is guarding, that's who we are throwing it to, and I believe 100% that we can score every time.”

— Javontae Campbell, BGSU Senior (sent-trib.com)

“Yeah, coach made it like a 'big guard' team because we're all big, so when we see small guards, we see that.”

What’s next

The Falcons will look to build on this win as they continue their push for a postseason berth, while Toledo will try to rebound from the loss as it looks to solidify its own postseason hopes.

The takeaway

BGSU's balanced scoring attack and physical play on both ends of the floor proved to be the difference, as the Falcons avenged an earlier loss to their in-state rival Toledo and kept themselves firmly in the MAC playoff picture.
