The global film series commemorating Holocaust Remembrance Day aims to translate history into deeply human and immediate experiences for audiences across borders and generations.NYC TodayThe Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference), in partnership with the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, has announced its first-ever global film series in commemoration of Holocaust Remembrance Day. The series will run from April 14 to April 20, with screenings in New York City, Frankfurt, and Berlin featuring Holocaust-related films that highlight stories of bravery, survival, resistance, and rebuilding.
Why it matters
As the number of living Holocaust survivors dwindles, this film series aims to preserve their stories and ensure the lessons of the Holocaust remain visible, relevant, and impossible to ignore for future generations. The global nature of the screenings and panels reflects a shared responsibility to confront hatred and honor those who lived through the darkest moments of history.
The details
The film series, titled "Strength of Courage," will include profiles of well-known figures associated with the Holocaust, such as Elie Wiesel, Hannah Arendt, and Art Spiegelman. Screenings in New York will feature moderators like Chuck Todd, Adam Kuperstein, Jodi Rudoren, and Neil Rosen, as well as panel discussions with historians, filmmakers, and Holocaust survivors. The events in Germany will include producers, filmmakers, media scholars, and local community members.
- The film series will be hosted from April 14 through April 20, 2026.
- The global kickoff event will take place at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in New York City on April 14, 2026.

— Greg Schneider, Executive Vice President of the Claims Conference
“This series uses the power of film to deepen understanding of the Holocaust at a moment when memory is fading and distortion and antisemitism are on the rise.”
— Jack Kliger, President and CEO of the Museum of Jewish Heritage
