After launching their drive-up coffee trailer business in 2023, Silver City couple Kelly and Dan Greene have now expanded Taildragger Coffee and Tea House into a permanent location at 1505 U.S. 180 E. The new space allows them to offer both a drive-thru and a cozy indoor seating area, and they plan to keep the original coffee trailer operational for events like the Cliff-Gila Grant County Fair and livestock shows.

Why it matters

The expansion of Taildragger Coffee and Tea House reflects the growing demand for specialty coffee and community-focused businesses in Silver City. The new location allows the owners to better serve their existing customer base while also attracting new patrons looking for a welcoming space to enjoy a cup of coffee.

The details

The new Taildragger Coffee and Tea House location features a drive-thru for customers on the go as well as an indoor seating area that can accommodate about six to seven small groups. The couple has been roasting their own coffee and developing a menu of specialty drinks, including the Taildragger (a caramel mocha frozen drink) and the Tail Rotor (a cold brew with vanilla and caramel). They also offer a variety of pastries baked by their daughter, Mackenzie Spurgeon, who serves as the assistant manager and baker.
