Doña Ana Community College (DACC) is hosting its third annual Scholarship Riches event on February 17th, where 15 students will be randomly selected to receive $1,000 scholarships - nearly double the number of awards from last year's event.
Why it matters
The Scholarship Riches event provides much-needed financial assistance to DACC students, helping them afford the cost of higher education. The increase in scholarship funds this year reflects the growing support and investment in the local community college.
The details
At the two-hour event, DACC will hold drawings every 30 minutes to award the 15 scholarships, which are funded by local donors including Mr. Randy Farmer, Dr. Don Cotter, FirstLight Federal Credit Union, Evon Bradley, and the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. In addition to the scholarship drawings, the event will offer information on other financial aid opportunities like the New Mexico Opportunity and Lottery Scholarships, and allow students to meet directly with scholarship providers.
- The Scholarship Riches event will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 from noon to 2 p.m.
- Last year, DACC provided eight scholarships of $500 each at the annual event.
