Zurich School Celebrates I Love to Read Month with Party

To conclude their I Love to Read Month festivities, students at Zurich Public School celebrated on Friday, February 27 with Character Interview Day and a party. During the event, students took on the roles of characters from mystery books they had read and interviewed each other. The school also presented third grader Eloise Gonzalez with a certificate and prize for winning a local "I Voted" sticker art contest. The celebration concluded with students enjoying a Sherlock Holmes-themed cake.

During the Character Interview Day, pairs of students asked and answered questions as characters from the mystery books they had read. For example, second grader Ryder Williams asked first grader Oscar Gonzalez, playing the role of Dink Duncan from the A to Z Mysteries series, "What is the best clue you've ever found?" The school also awarded students who had correctly solved riddles with "Scooby snacks" - Scooby-Doo-themed graham crackers. All students who met their reading goals for the month were allowed to select detective-themed prizes.
