Community Collage Brings Public Art Project to Moorhead

Photographer Josh Madson is launching a public art initiative called "Community Collage" in Moorhead, Minnesota. The project involves taking black-and-white portraits of local residents and turning them into a large-scale mural that will be unveiled at a TEDx event in Fargo in July. Madson held his first pop-up photography session at Concordia College on April 15, 2026, and has five more sessions planned across Moorhead in April and May.

The details

Photographer Josh Madson, who has experience in high-end fashion and commercial photography, is the founder of the nonprofit Community Collage initiative. Since launching the project in 2023, Madson has photographed more than 14,000 people across the United States for similar large-scale murals. The Moorhead-Fargo collage will be unveiled at a TEDx event in Fargo in July 2026.
