According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, the crash occurred around 1:11 p.m. on April 11 near the intersection of Lapeer and Greenshield roads in Orion Township. A 63-year-old Hazel Park man driving a 2015 Ford Fiesta northbound on Lapeer Road, for unknown reasons, left the roadway, drove through the median, and struck the 2011 Lincoln MKX driven by the 86-year-old Rochester Hills man head-on. The Rochester Hills man, identified as Alfred Henry Young, was pronounced dead at the hospital from his injuries. Young's 86-year-old wife was also critically injured, as were the Fiesta driver and his wife.
