A new on-campus stadium will allow Holland High School to host its first-ever home football games, boosting school spirit and community engagement.Holland TodayFor more than a century, Holland High School has fielded a football team, but never played a home game on campus. That's about to change with the construction of a new stadium, funded by a community-approved millage. The upgrades will benefit multiple sports, including football, baseball, softball, track and field, and the marching band.
Why it matters
The new stadium will provide a dedicated home field for Holland High School's sports teams, boosting attendance and morale. It also symbolizes the school's strong community spirit and pride.
The details
The new stadium will feature artificial turf, a home grandstand, updated bleachers, and renovations to adjacent softball and baseball fields. The grandstand will be built on the west side of the field, and the softball diamond will be slightly rotated to accommodate the changes. The renovations will account for about half of the $49 million generated by the community-approved millage.
- Construction is scheduled to begin in early June, after baseball and softball seasons end.
- The school plans to have home games for baseball and softball on the new artificial turf fields next spring, and then football the following fall of August 2027.
