At that point, Belbusti, who was behind the victim in a black Mitsubishi Outlander, allegedly pulled alongside the truck and fired a single shot, hitting the rear passenger-side panel. The victim reportedly followed Belbusti to the Rossmor Boulevard area before calling 911 and providing a description. Police later identified Belbusti through the investigation and took him into custody at his home in Olney. Detectives executed search warrants for Belbusti's home and SUV, recovering evidence related to the case.
