The Onset Bay Association's annual Easter egg hunt drew hundreds of children to Bayview Park on Saturday, April 4, 2026. With over 5,000 eggs scattered around the park, the kids raced to collect as many as possible, with the entire hunt lasting just 10 minutes. Volunteers from the association spent hours stuffing and placing the eggs, while the Easter Bunny was on hand to take photos with the young participants.
Why it matters
The Onset Bay Association's Easter egg hunt is a beloved annual tradition that brings the community together for a fun, affordable family event. The quick pace and large number of eggs make it an exciting competition, while the event also serves as a fundraiser for the association's other community programs and initiatives.
The details
Dozens of children, some with faces painted, lined up ready to race as the hunt began. Three young participants, Layne Hunt, Serenity Hunt, and Gianna Snyder, had goals in mind for how many eggs they wanted to collect, with Gianna aiming for up to 30. Another child, Harper Lee, said she had a strategy of going for the closest eggs first before running to the farthest ones. Harper even showed kindness by donating one of her eggs to another child who didn't have as many.
