The Caddo Parish Department of Animal Services and Mosquito Control is hosting a free drive-thru clinic offering rabies vaccinations and microchipping for pets of Parish residents this Saturday, April 18th from 10am to 2pm at Summer Grove Baptist Church in Shreveport.

Why it matters

The event aims to improve pet health and safety in the Shreveport area, which has faced challenges with stray and unwanted animals due to limited access to spay/neuter services. By providing free preventative care, the clinic helps address the root causes of animal overpopulation and disease.

The details

The one-year rabies vaccinations will be available for dogs, cats, and ferrets on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the vaccines and microchipping, the department will also distribute information on low-cost spay/neuter services and mosquito/heartworm prevention.

  • The free pet vaccine clinic will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
