Three western Kentucky residents tragically died when their vehicle plunged into the Mississippi River in Hickman County. The incident happened on Saturday night when employees of Ingram Barge heard a collision and notified authorities, leading to the recovery of the vehicle and the discovery of the three victims inside.

According to the Hickman County Sheriff's Office, employees of Ingram Barge heard a collision and reported finding what they believed to be a car that had hit their ramp and gone into the river. A diver with McCracken County Emergency Management was able to locate the vehicle and hook it up to a wrecker to be pulled from the water, at which point the three occupants were discovered deceased.
