Marilyn Louise (Martindale) Smith, a lifelong resident of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born in 1936 and graduated from Monroe City High School in 1954. Marilyn married Orison (John) Smith in 1954 and the couple lived in Germany for two years while John served in the U.S. Army. After returning to the U.S., Marilyn attended beauty school and later worked as a secretary at a local elementary school. Music was a lifelong passion for Marilyn, and she sang in her church choir, played saxophone in her school band, and was accomplished on piano, accordion, and violin.
