Carns had worked as a technician at Northgate Lanes bowling alley for over a decade and later found a second home working in maintenance at the Hampton Inn in Billings, Montana, for eight years. An outdoorsman at heart, Carns loved baseball, hunting, and fishing, and cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his 14 grandchildren.
