Louie Dale Rackley, Sr., a longtime Georgia Power lineman and instructor, passed away on February 7, 2026 at the age of 86 in Elyria, Ohio. Rackley was born in Climax, Georgia and grew up there, graduating from Climax High School. He married Betty Ruth Chason Perkins and they were married for 66 years. Rackley worked as a Journeyman Lineman for Georgia Power before retiring, and was known as an expert pole climber and instructor. He and his wife were Seven Day Adventists and attended church in Colquitt and Thomasville, Georgia. Rackley is survived by his wife, three children, and their families.
