Delta Air Lines has unveiled an updated design for its business-class suites that will debut on the airline's Airbus A350-1000 aircraft arriving in early 2027. The new suites offer several upgrades, including beds that are three inches longer, providing over six and a half feet of sleeping space, and a pillow-top cushion on top of the memory foam mattress. The redesign also features more knee and leg room, dedicated shoe storage, and extra storage for personal items.

Why it matters

The new Delta One suite design is part of the airline's broader strategic push to focus growth on premium cabins, as business and first-class ticket revenue has become increasingly important to Delta's bottom line. The updates also come as Delta's main competitor, United Airlines, has also been revamping its premium offerings for long-haul international flights.

The details

Each Airbus A350-1000 aircraft will feature 50 of the new Delta One suites. The updated design also includes Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main cabins. Delta says the A350-1000 will have the airline's largest seatback screens to date with high-definition picture quality and over 1,000 hours of free entertainment. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, USB-C and universal AC power outlets, and memory foam cushions. The A350-1000 is also more fuel-efficient, using over 20% less fuel per seat mile compared to the older planes it will replace.
