The Miami Dolphins are in full rebuild mode this offseason, cleaning house from top to bottom. In this new seven-round mock draft, the team addresses key needs on both sides of the ball, including edge rusher, cornerback, offensive line, and quarterback.
Why it matters
The Dolphins are looking to move on from the Tua Tagovailoa era and start fresh with a new roster and coaching staff. This draft class could set the foundation for the team's future success, as they aim to build a contender in the AFC East.
The details
In the first round, the Dolphins select EDGE David Bailey from Texas Tech to replace the departed Bradley Chubb. In the second round, they add CB Keionte Scott from Miami to bolster the secondary. The third round sees the team address the offensive line with OT Drew Shelton from Penn State, add a playmaking WR in Ted Hurst from Georgia State, and take a flyer on QB Trinidad Chambliss from Ole Miss to create competition at the position. Later picks include OL Matt Gublin from Michigan State, TE Tanner Koziol from Houston, and S Xavier Nwankpa from Iowa.
- The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in late April 2026.
The players
David Bailey
A defensive end from Texas Tech University who is projected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Keionte Scott
A cornerback from the University of Miami who had a breakout 2025 season and is expected to be an early-round selection.
Drew Shelton
An offensive tackle from Penn State University who has experience playing multiple positions on the offensive line.
Ted Hurst
A wide receiver from Georgia State University who is considered a potential mid-round steal due to his production and athleticism.
Trinidad Chambliss
A quarterback from the University of Mississippi known for his dual-threat abilities and potential to develop into an NFL starter.
What’s next
The Dolphins will continue to make roster moves and free agency signings in the coming months to further reshape their team ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The takeaway
The Dolphins' new front office is taking an aggressive approach to rebuilding the roster, targeting high-upside prospects on both sides of the ball to create competition and set the team up for long-term success in the post-Tua era.
