The Good Pour's mix of premium liquor, charitable giving, and elevated customer experience has fueled the brand's rapid expansion across Florida.Clermont TodayRay and Giuliana Horal, the founders of the Good Pour chain of liquor stores, are expanding their business model that combines wine and spirits sales with charitable giving. After opening their first store in Gainesville in 2023, the couple has since opened locations in Longwood, College Park, and Winter Park. Over the next year, they plan to open four more franchise stores in Apopka, Lake Mary, Naples, and a second Gainesville location.
Why it matters
The Good Pour's unique business model of donating a portion of every sale to charity has resonated with customers, allowing the company to rapidly expand across Florida. This growth highlights the demand for mission-driven retail experiences that give back to the local community, especially in the competitive liquor store industry.
The details
The Good Pour was founded by Ray and Giuliana Horal, who took their idea for a liquor store with a charitable component and transformed a struggling Gainesville store into the first location in 2023. Since then, they have opened additional corporate and franchise locations, with plans for four more over the next year in Apopka, Lake Mary, Naples, and a second Gainesville store. Each Good Pour location features a gift bar with home goods and barware, in addition to wine and spirits. Customers can designate a portion of their purchase to go to one of over 250 pre-vetted charities through the company's app.
- The first Good Pour location opened in Gainesville in 2023.
- The Longwood location opened in 2024, followed by College Park and Winter Park in 2025.
- Four new franchise stores are planned to open over the next year in Apopka, Lake Mary, Naples, and a second Gainesville location.
The players
Ray Horal
Co-founder of Good Pour and focused on sales and strategy for the business.
Giuliana Horal
Co-founder of Good Pour and focused on marketing and experiential activities for the stores.
Jigz Patel
Owner and operator of the existing Gainesville Good Pour store and the upcoming second Gainesville location.
David Baer

What they’re saying
“Now we are reaching a consumer that wants to feel a part of something, that wants to do better. They don't want to just come in and grab their bottle of Tito's (vodka) and walk right out.”
— Jigz Patel, Owner/Operator, Gainesville Good Pour store
“It's kind of like the Williams Sonoma of liquor stores. Just a better appeal where my wife, my daughter can go in and feel like they got somebody who's going to take care of something at all levels.”
— David Baer, Partner, Lake Mary Good Pour store
What’s next
The Good Pour is looking to expand to other Central Florida markets, including Clermont, Dr. Phillips, Sanford, and Windermere, with a goal of having up to 15 locations in the region. The company is also in discussions with potential operators in South Florida, Alabama, New Jersey, Texas, and Tennessee.
The takeaway
The rapid growth of the Good Pour chain demonstrates the demand for mission-driven retail experiences that give back to local communities. By combining a traditional liquor store model with charitable giving, the Horals have found a successful formula that resonates with customers and allows the business to expand across Florida and beyond.
