According to an arrest report, the dispute began when a woman had difficulty locating her DoorDash driver, identified as Jacquez. When the driver, Jacquez De'onte Keith, and his passenger, Calista Nicole Crenshaw, arrived, an argument ensued, and Crenshaw allegedly retrieved a handgun from the vehicle and pointed it at the woman, who said she feared for her safety. Why it matters
This incident highlights the potential risks and tensions that can arise during food delivery services, as well as the broader issue of gun violence and the need for de-escalation tactics in confrontational situations. It also raises questions about the safety protocols and training for gig economy workers, as well as the role of law enforcement in responding to such incidents.
The details
According to the arrest report, the woman had ordered food through DoorDash but had difficulty locating the driver, identified as 'Jacquez' in the app. The two exchanged messages before agreeing to meet when the driver was unable to find her lot number. When the driver, Jacquez De'onte Keith, and his passenger, Calista Nicole Crenshaw, arrived, an argument began. During the dispute, the woman began recording the encounter on her cellphone, and the video shows Crenshaw retrieving a black handgun from the passenger side of the vehicle and pointing it toward the woman while yelling. The woman told deputies she feared for her safety. Crenshaw then moved into the driver's seat and left the scene, while Keith initially walked away. Deputies later located both individuals at a nearby apartment complex, where they recovered the firearm that matched the one seen in the cellphone video.
- On March 25, 2026, deputies responded to the incident at around 11:55 a.m.
- On the same day, Crenshaw and Keith were later located and arrested at One51 Place apartments in Alachua.
