DuPont's new ultrafiltration modules combine pre-filtration and membrane filtration into a single, streamlined unit to help water treatment plants optimize their operations.Wilmington TodayDuPont has announced the launch of its new Inge™ ultrafiltration modules with integrated pre-filter (iP-F). This new product combines pre-filtration and ultrafiltration into a single module housing, eliminating the need for a separate pre-filtration manifold and helping to reduce plant footprint as well as associated capital and operational costs.
Why it matters
The integrated pre-filter offering from DuPont can help water treatment plants, desalination facilities, and industrial water users streamline their operations and improve efficiency by combining two key filtration steps into one compact unit. This can lead to cost savings and a smaller overall plant footprint, which is especially valuable for new installations, expansions, and containerized systems where space is limited.
The details
Inge™ UF modules with iP-F maintain the same membrane materials, dimensions, and drinking water certifications as existing Inge™ UF modules, but with the added benefit of integrated pre-filtration. This allows the modules to provide consistent permeate quality, pathogen removal, and tolerance to feedwater quality swings, all in a smaller footprint than conventional media filters and traditional UF plant designs with upstream prefilters. DuPont's WAVE PRO modeling software can be used to evaluate system performance and design scenarios as part of the overall process design.
