Why it matters
These infrastructure projects aim to improve worker and public safety, prevent debris from entering local waterways, and make the highway more accessible for both drivers and pedestrians in the Vallejo and Fairfield areas.
The details
Beginning Monday, construction crews will implement nightly lane closures on various stretches of I-80 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, as they move between locations in Vallejo and Fairfield to set up temporary barriers. Later in the month, there will be a full closure of the Solano Avenue/Springs Road on-ramp to westbound I-80 from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 20, as part of a separate lighting and accessibility upgrade project.
- Beginning Monday, April 7, nightly lane closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, April 11.
- The Solano Avenue/Springs Road on-ramp to westbound I-80 will be fully closed from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 17, until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 20.
