General Compute's new inference cloud platform provides the specialized infrastructure needed to support the growing ecosystem of autonomous AI agents.San Francisco TodayGeneral Compute Inc. has announced the launch of its inference cloud platform designed specifically for AI agent workloads. The platform runs on specialized AI accelerators rather than general-purpose GPUs, and is built to serve AI agents that make high volumes of LLM inference and tool calls, including those that provision their own compute programmatically.
Why it matters
As AI agents become more prevalent, the need for cloud infrastructure optimized for their unique requirements is growing. General Compute's platform aims to provide a scalable, efficient solution for AI agents to access the compute power they need to operate autonomously.
The details
The General Compute inference cloud platform offers an industry-standard API, allowing developers to integrate it into existing applications. At launch, the platform will provide access to a range of open-source large language models (LLMs) across multiple model families and parameter sizes. Customers can also deploy their own models on the company's infrastructure, which operates on hydroelectric power and uses air-cooled accelerator hardware.
- General Compute is working with early partners now, ahead of the platform's general availability on May 15, 2026.
The players

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of General Compute Inc.
What they’re saying
“The last 20 years we built for developers, the next 20 we will build for agents. On General Compute, AI agents can sign up on their own and provision their own inference. Our docs and API are optimized for both human and AI agent consumption.”
— Jason Goodison, Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer
What’s next
General Compute is accepting inquiries from enterprises regarding dedicated infrastructure, service level agreements, and capacity planning. Interested parties can contact Jason Goodison at jason@generalcompute.com.
The takeaway
General Compute's new inference cloud platform represents a significant step forward in providing the specialized infrastructure needed to support the growing ecosystem of autonomous AI agents. By optimizing for the unique requirements of these agents, the company aims to enable more advanced and capable AI systems to operate at scale.
