Modesto Fire crews responded early Monday morning to rescue a person found inside a garbage truck after the driver noticed the individual on the vehicle's internal camera system while collecting trash and before the compaction process began. The person was safely assisted out of the truck and evaluated for minor injuries.

According to Modesto Fire, Engine 1, Truck 1, and Battalion Chief 1 were called to the scene around 4:02 a.m. on 12th and I Street after reports that a person had been detected inside the truck's cargo area.
