Nike is releasing a low-top version of Kobe Bryant's third signature sneaker, the Kobe 3 Protro, during NBA All-Star Weekend 2026 in Los Angeles. The new low-top model features a metallic Purple Venom and Black 'Warning Label' colorway and marks the first time the Kobe 3 has been offered in a low-top silhouette. The Kobe 3 Low Protro will be available exclusively at Nike's The Grove location in LA for $230.
Why it matters
The Kobe 3 Low Protro release is significant as it represents the first time Bryant's third signature shoe has been offered in a low-top version. The low-top design provides a sleeker, less constricted fit for on-court play. Additionally, the release coincides with NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, making it a fitting tribute to the late Lakers legend.
The details
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro features the same standard build as the regular Kobe 3 Protro, but with a chopped-down ankle height for a more streamlined look and feel. While the Kobe 4 introduced low-top basketball shoes to Bryant's line, the Kobe 3 Low Protro marks the first time this variation has been made available at retail. In addition to the upcoming Warning Label colorway, an all-white 'Halo' iteration is also expected to release later this year as part of Nike's annual birthday tribute to Bryant.
- The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro 'Warning Label' colorway will release on Saturday, February 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM PT.
- The all-white 'Halo' colorway of the Kobe 3 Low Protro is expected to release later in 2026, on August 23rd, which would have been Kobe Bryant's birthday.
The players
Kobe Bryant
The late Los Angeles Lakers legend and five-time NBA champion, whose signature sneaker line with Nike is being honored with the release of the Kobe 3 Low Protro.
Vanessa Bryant
Kobe Bryant's widow, who shared the first look at an all-white 'Halo' colorway of the Kobe 3 Low Protro in August 2025.
Jalen Brunson
The New York Knicks star, who has been a prominent wearer of Kobe Bryant's signature sneakers in recent years and debuted a player-exclusive colorway of the Kobe 3 Low Protro in January 2026.
What’s next
The all-white 'Halo' colorway of the Kobe 3 Low Protro is expected to release later in 2026 on August 23rd, which would have been Kobe Bryant's birthday.
The takeaway
The release of the Kobe 3 Low Protro during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles serves as a fitting tribute to the late Lakers legend, whose signature sneaker line has long been celebrated for its innovative low-top designs. The new low-top version of the Kobe 3 provides a sleeker, more streamlined option for on-court performance, further cementing Bryant's legacy as a trailblazer in basketball footwear.
