A new four-cottage retreat near Healdsburg's town square, called The Cottages at Little Saint, blends plant-forward dining, live music, and whimsical design details like hidden doorways, hand-painted floors, and vintage artwork. The interiors were designed by San Francisco-based designer Ken Fulk, known for his maximalist, layered, and narrative-driven approach. Each of the four standalone cottages has its own unique identity, ranging from 375 to 1,000 square feet, with amenities like private porches, a shared pool, and connections to the adjacent Little Saint restaurant, market, and cultural space.

Why it matters

The details

Designed by San Francisco-based Ken Fulk, the four cottages feature a range of whimsical design elements, including hand-painted checkerboard floors, aged brass fixtures, vibrant tilework, custom patchwork furniture, and hidden doorways that connect some of the units. Each cottage has its own distinct identity, with the largest, 'Court', offering a concealed armoire doorway that connects to the adjacent 'Spark' cottage.
