The Downtown El Cajon Association is bringing back its popular Music on Main series, transforming Prescott Promenade into an open-air concert venue with live performances from local musicians every Friday evening throughout the summer.

Why it matters

Music on Main has long been a signature summer tradition for the East County community, providing a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for residents to enjoy live music, dine at nearby restaurants, and soak up the community vibe. The refreshed format and strong lineup of performers are expected to draw even larger crowds this year.

The details

Formerly known as the Dinner & A Concert Series, Music on Main is shifting to Friday evenings, turning the start of the weekend into an easy excuse to head outdoors. Expect live performances from talented local musicians spanning rock, country, jazz, Latin, and more, with a different sound each week. This year's lineup includes Heart of Rock and Roll, Ronstadt Revival, Journeymen, Half Shot featuring Daring Greatly, Whitney Shay, and Amor Prohibido, with more performers still to be announced.

  • Music on Main will run every Friday from June through August 2026.
  • The concerts will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM.
