Brookside Elementary School in Beaumont, California recently hosted a career day event where 20 local professionals from a range of fields, including public safety, healthcare, skilled trades, and local government, visited the school to speak with students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. The event was organized by second-grade teacher Kim Bridgman and special education teacher Mariah Mendoza, with the goal of helping students explore different careers and connect their learning to real-world success.

Participants included an electrician, a graphic designer, a U.S. Coast Guard member, fitness business owners, a gardener, pest control technicians, a hairstylist, a physical therapy professional, and a firefighter. Additional speakers represented speech pathology, geology, wastewater management, water conservation, and steel manufacturing. Local government and public safety agencies were also represented, including a Beaumont city council member, the California Department of Investigations, the California Highway Patrol, and the Morongo Police Department. Fire Engine 66 was on site as part of the event.
