A 30-story mixed-use student housing tower called Hub on Campus Tempe is under construction in downtown Tempe, Arizona, near Arizona State University. The project will deliver 818 residential units and 1,957 student beds, along with ground-floor restaurant space and a rooftop amenity deck. As part of the development, two historic Tempe landmarks - the 1903 Harry Walker House and the First Congregational Church sanctuary - are being preserved.

Why it matters

The large-scale student housing project aims to ease rental pressure near the ASU campus while also reshaping the Mill Avenue corridor with more permanent, amenity-focused housing and additional street-level hospitality space. The preservation of the historic buildings was central to winning community and municipal support for the project.

The details

The 30-story Hub on Campus Tempe tower is a joint project between Core Spaces and Wexford Developments, with Findorff as the general contractor and RSP Architects as the design lead. Kennedy Wilson is providing construction financing, and Core Spaces will manage the property once completed. The project is slated for delivery in 2028 and will feature a rooftop pool and amenity deck, as well as 5,000 square feet of ground-floor restaurant space.

  • Vertical construction is now clearly visible at the site east of Myrtle Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets.
  • The project is aimed for completion in summer 2028.
