Banner Health has taken ownership of Masterson Place, a facility that provides low-cost short-term and long-term housing for patients and families using Casper's medical facilities. The facility was previously owned and operated by the Natrona County Health Trust, which was formed from the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation after the sale of the Wyoming Medical Center to Banner Health. The Natrona Collective Health Trust has now gifted Masterson Place, including its three employees, building, and furnishings, to Banner Health.

Why it matters

Masterson Place has served an important role in the Casper community for 25 years, providing affordable accommodations for those traveling to the city for medical care. By transferring ownership to Banner Health, the facility's mission of compassionate care for medical patients and their families will continue under the stewardship of a major healthcare provider in the region.

The details

Masterson Place was first located in a former Best Western motel on West Yellowstone before moving to a new purpose-built facility near the Wyoming Medical Center in 2019. The facility was spearheaded by Mary Masterson and many community members to address the need for low-cost housing options for medical patients and their families visiting Casper. Banner Health, which owns the Wyoming Medical Center, will now take over operations of Masterson Place.
