She was also an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she held various leadership roles.

The couple were married in 1956 and were together for 58 years until Bill's passing. Marilyn Holmquist was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, serving in various leadership roles, including as president of the Ladies Guild, and as a board member for the St. John's West Bend Foundation.
