The 41st annual BE Legacy of Excellence Awards, formerly known as the Black Excellence Awards, took place on February 27, 2026 in Milwaukee, honoring over 20 individuals and 12 scholarship recipients from the local African American community. The event celebrated Milwaukee's Black leaders, students, and community champions across various fields including art, business, education, health, and public service.

The details
This year's special honorees included the 'Men Behind the Mic', a group of prominent African American news anchors from local TV stations. There was also a special recognition of Green Bay Packers Legends LeRoy Butler, Gilbert Brown, and Antonio Freeman. In addition to the individual honorees, 12 students were awarded scholarships through the Louvenia Johnson Scholarship Fund.
