The Green Bay Packers' charitable arm, Packers Give Back, has awarded $125,000 impact grants to two Wisconsin nonprofits, Dogs2DogTags and Guitars for Vets, that provide therapeutic programs and support services for veterans struggling with PTSD, anxiety, and other emotional distress.
Why it matters
The grants will enable these organizations to expand access to their innovative, community-based programs that leverage the healing power of animals and music to help veterans find renewed purpose, confidence, and improved mental health outcomes.
The details
Dogs2DogTags pairs veterans with highly-trained rescued or donated canine companions to provide support for PTSD and anxiety, while also training veterans' own dogs for service or therapy roles. Guitars for Vets offers a 10-week guitar instruction program that provides veterans with a new instrument, lessons, and the opportunity to connect with a community of fellow graduates.
- In 2025, nearly 2,000 veterans graduated from the Guitars for Vets program nationwide.
- Since it was founded in 2016, Dogs2DogTags has paired 38 veterans with dogs, including eight service dog teams.

What they’re saying
“What we do goes beyond training dogs. It's about giving veterans the tools, the support and the community they need to heal and move forward with confidence. We're incredibly grateful to the Green Bay Packers for strengthening that impact.”
— Tammy Graf, Executive Director, Dogs2DogTags
“We are deeply grateful to the Green Bay Packers for this extraordinary investment in our veterans. This generous support will directly expand access to our music instruction and therapeutic programming across Wisconsin, ensuring more veterans can find healing, connection and renewed purpose through the power of music and community. The Packers organization continues to demonstrate what it truly means to stand with those who have served. Together, we are changing and, in many cases, saving lives right here in Wisconsin.”
