Even though the Green Bay Packers failed to make it to Super Bowl 60, the city will still be represented on the big stage. Two high-level NFL executives who graduated from the same Green Bay high school - John Schneider of the Seattle Seahawks and Eliot Wolf of the New England Patriots - will face off in the championship game.
Why it matters
While the Packers' absence from the Super Bowl is disappointing for the city of Green Bay, the presence of these two executives with local ties helps maintain the community's connection to the big game. Their success also highlights the quality of the education and development programs at Notre Dame Academy, the merged high school they both attended.
The details
Schneider and Wolf both attended what is now known as Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay, though they technically went to different predecessor schools - Schneider to Abbott Pennings and Wolf to Premontre High School. The two schools merged in 1990 to form Notre Dame Academy, where they both received their high school education.
- Super Bowl 60 will be played on February 2, 2026 in Santa Clara, California.
The players
John Schneider
The General Manager of the Seattle Seahawks, who graduated from Abbott Pennings High School, one of the predecessor schools to Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay.
Eliot Wolf
The Executive Vice President of Player Personnel for the New England Patriots, who graduated from Premontre High School, another predecessor school to Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay.
Ken Flaten
The Executive Director of Business at Notre Dame Academy, who has worked at the school since 1979 when it was still Premontre High School.
What they’re saying
“Having 32 positions, like you say, and having two of them from there, and having the connection and the relationship that the Packers have with the Green Bay community, both of them having worked together for the Packers. So, they'd gone on there and then got their chances to go elsewhere and look at how successful they are.”
— Ken Flaten, Executive Director of Business, Notre Dame Academy
“Both of these people when they were kids learned how to be people oriented and to communicate and to be listeners and things like that because look at it's made them for their career.”
— Ken Flaten, Executive Director of Business, Notre Dame Academy
What’s next
The Super Bowl 60 matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will take place on February 2, 2026 in Santa Clara, California.
The takeaway
Even without the hometown Packers in the Super Bowl, Green Bay will still have a strong presence on the biggest stage in football through the success of two of its high school alumni who have risen to prominent executive roles in the NFL. This speaks to the quality of the education and development programs in the Green Bay community.
