In August 2025, Dane County Circuit Judge John Hyland rejected motions to dismiss felony charges for 'forgery' against attorneys Kenneth Chesebro and Jim Troupis and Trump campaign operative Mike Roman. The charges accuse the three of conspiring to overturn President Biden's 2020 election by creating a slate of 'fake electors' who would vote for Mr. Trump. Never mind that Mr. Trump's Wisconsin effort went nowhere.
