Allenton American Legion Launches Blue Hawks Girls Fast-Pitch Team
New summer league team looking for players and sponsors

The Allenton American Legion is launching a new girls' fast-pitch softball team called the Blue Hawks. The team is open to players from 8th grade through high school seniors and will compete in a summer league, with regional and state tournaments also available. The team is still looking to fill a few roster spots as well as secure additional sponsors to keep participation affordable.

The new Blue Hawks team represents the 10th state to form an American Legion Softball program, providing a valuable opportunity for young female athletes in the Allenton area to play competitive fast-pitch softball and potentially earn scholarship funds.
The details
The Blue Hawks will be a summer league team, not a tournament squad. Players enrolled in 8th through 12th grade during the 2025-2026 school year are eligible. Athletes on the team will be eligible for a $1,000 Department Scholarship as well as the $1,000 Schneider-Emanuel Scholarship if they meet additional criteria.
- The 2026 Blue Hawks season will run during the summer of 2026.
- Regional and state tournaments for the American Legion Softball program will also take place in 2026.
