The woman was able to open the passenger door and jump out of the moving vehicle, escaping. Deputies were able to file charges, and the next day, they located Scott in a business parking lot, but his truck was unoccupied. Acting on a witness account, deputies began searching the Centennial Trail area and found Scott near the Spokane River, where he waded out into the water in an attempt to flee. Scott clung to a rock in the river before being convinced to come to shore, where he was arrested.
