Stanford's Ebuka Okorie scores 40 in win; Cal falls to No. 20 Clemson

Okorie sets freshman school record as Cardinal defeat Georgia Tech; Bears lose to Tigers at Haas Pavilion

Published on Feb. 7, 2026

Ebuka Okorie scored a freshman-school-record 40 points to lead Stanford to a 95-72 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday night at Maples Pavilion. Jeremy Dent-Smith added 16 points for the Cardinal, who shot 54% overall and ended a five-game losing streak. In Berkeley, No. 20 Clemson defeated Cal 77-55 to extend its ACC road winning streak to 14 games.

Why it matters

Okorie's performance was a bright spot for Stanford, which has struggled in conference play this season. The loss drops Cal to 5-6 in the ACC, making it more difficult for the Bears to secure an NCAA Tournament bid. Clemson, on the other hand, continues to solidify its position as one of the top teams in the conference.

The details

Okorie shot 12-for-21 from the floor, made three 3-pointers and all 13 of his free-throw attempts. He surpassed his previous high of 36 points scored earlier this season. Stanford opened the second half on a 13-4 run to stretch its lead, and Georgia Tech couldn't get closer than seven points the rest of the way. In the Clemson-Cal game, the Tigers put together a 23-1 run in the first half to take control.
