What they’re saying
“Attendees really like the event. It's great to inform our senior community that whenever they come in — whether they're coming in for a different program, drop-in sport, other meetings — that this is happening. It's a completely kind of more open house-type of event.”
— Chris del Pilar, City recreation specialist (bellevuereporter.com)
“An in-person connection can be an important first step to finding a volunteer opportunity, joining a support group, engaging in home-care services, or starting the conversation about finding a retirement or assisted living facility.”
— Marina Gonzales, YFS programs coordinator (bellevuereporter.com)
What’s next
The city is looking to gauge interest from vendors and attendees to potentially offer additional presentations and workshops for the senior community throughout the rest of the year and into 2027.
The takeaway
The Mercer Island Senior Resource Fair provides a valuable opportunity for local seniors to access a wide range of resources and services, fostering connections and empowering them to live their best lives.
