At least five veteran University of Washington football players, each dealing with injury residue from the previous season, will miss or be restricted in spring practice, which begins on Tuesday. The Huskies will not have the full services of senior linebacker Buddah Al-Uqdah, sophomore nickelback Rahshawn Clark, senior edge rusher Russell Davis II, junior tight end Kade Eldridge or senior running back Jayden Limar for the coming 15 workouts.
Why it matters
The Huskies are looking to build on their strong finish to the 2025 season, including a bowl game victory over Boise State. However, these key veteran players will be sidelined or limited during the critical spring practice period, which could impact the team's preparation and development heading into the fall.
The details
Senior linebacker Buddah Al-Uqdah, who transferred from Washington State, started the first three games in 2025 before suffering a season-ending knee injury against his former team. Sophomore nickelback Rahshawn Clark, who had two interceptions last season, recently had shoulder surgery and won't be available until fall camp. Senior edge rusher Russell Davis II, who followed coach Jedd Fisch from Arizona, has struggled with injuries the past two seasons and will be limited in spring practice. Junior tight end Kade Eldridge, a transfer from USC, had a Lisfranc foot injury that ended his 2025 season and may only be 'touch and go' for spring ball. Senior running back Jayden Limar, a new arrival from Oregon, had surgery to deal with wear and tear on one of his feet and will be held out of spring practice.
