TerraClear, a leader in agricultural automation, has announced the launch of TerraScout, a fully autonomous robot designed to collect ultra-high-resolution imagery across entire fields. The robot then converts that field intelligence into prescriptions and precision mission plans for existing farm equipment to deliver high ROI results, focusing initially on rock and weed management.
Why it matters
TerraScout represents a shift from manual field scouting and satellite imagery to continuous full-field digital intelligence, unlocking enormous productivity gains for farmers. By processing data on the machine and sending maps to a mobile app in real-time, TerraScout enables farmers to make more informed, data-driven decisions to optimize inputs and maximize yields.
The details
TerraScout collects over 4 billion image samples per acre at 1mm resolution, allowing it to map over 1,000 acres per day at speeds up to 15 mph. The onboard edge-computing technology turns the massive image datasets into actionable maps in real-time. Equipped with artificial lighting, TerraScout can operate 24/7 in most weather conditions. The robot's rock management capabilities detect rocks 8 inches and larger, providing an optimal picking path, while the weed management features analyze fields on a 1 square foot grid to determine weed pressure and generate precision spraying plans.
- Field trials began earlier this year.
- TerraClear will expand trials to existing retail partners and select farmer customers in Spring 2026.
- The limited Fall 2026 release is open for pre-orders.
