The Ridgeline girls basketball team, led by junior point guard Grace Sheridan and senior post Madi Crowley, pulled away from Central Valley 63-38 in the Greater Spokane League 4A/3A regular-season finale. Meanwhile, Ridgeline senior Caden Andreas scored 23 points, including 13 in the fourth quarter, to move into sixth place on the all-time GSL regular-season scoring list with 996 points.
Why it matters
The Ridgeline girls had already locked up the top seed in the District 6 3A tournament, while a Central Valley win would have secured the second 3A seed and a home game in the first round. The Falcons wanted to build momentum heading into the postseason, and they did so with a dominant performance. For the boys, Andreas' scoring record is a significant individual accomplishment that caps off his high school career.
The details
The Ridgeline girls led 19-12 after the first quarter and 34-20 at halftime. They pulled away in the second half, outscoring Central Valley 29-18 in the final two quarters. Sheridan scored 22 points and Crowley added 19 points with nine rebounds for the Falcons. Central Valley was missing leading scorer Drae Domebo due to injury. For the boys, Central Valley led by as many as nine points in the third quarter, but Ridgeline rallied in the fourth, with Andreas scoring 13 of his 23 points in the final period to give the Falcons a 54-52 victory.

“We came together as a team. I love my team. They trust me. I trust them. We just go to work. We don't care what our record says. We're gonna make a run now.”
