Scott County school and county officials joined Weber City Elementary School students in breaking ground on a $2.6 million expansion project that will add new kindergarten and pre-K classrooms as well as two multi-purpose rooms to the school.
Why it matters
The expansion will provide more dedicated space for the school system to deliver individualized student services in-house, rather than relying on outside contractors. This will improve privacy and the overall quality of services for Weber City Elementary students.
The details
The expansion project, designed by engineering firm Thompson & Litton and constructed by GRC Construction, is set for completion by January 2027. During the planning process, officials noted that specialists often had to share space with others during class or session times, which the new expansion aims to address.
