VES Students Return to Alternate Classrooms

Victoria Elementary School students will attend classes at other county schools starting Tuesday

Published on Feb. 12, 2026

Victoria Elementary School (VES) students in grades kindergarten through fifth grade will return to in-person instruction by attending classes at other county schools beginning Tuesday, February 17. VES pre-K, kindergarten and first grade students will attend Kenbridge Elementary School, while students in grades two through five will go to Lunenburg Middle School.

Why it matters

A broken sprinkler line at VES led the Lunenburg County Public Schools (LCPS) to shift to remote learning. This temporary relocation of VES students to other schools will allow in-person instruction to resume while repairs are made to the VES building.

The details

LCPS announced the plan on Thursday, stating that families will have the opportunity to visit their child's 'new' school during scheduled open house events. VES pre-kindergarten students have already resumed in-person learning. Monday, February 16 will be the final virtual learning day for VES K-5 students, and meal distribution will take place on Friday, February 13.
