Yarra Council has launched the Retail Ready program, which is delivered through the Council's Learning Bank in Richmond. The program aims to support local residents seeking work in the retail industry by providing practical training, hands-on experience, and job application assistance.

The details

The Retail Ready program includes a series of guided sessions covering topics such as an introduction to the retail industry, practical retail skills like store presentation and communication, employer engagement through site visits and meetings with retail managers, and job application and interview preparation. Participants can also select an interview or work outfit from the Thread Together Clothing Hub, receive a Certificate of Participation, and access ongoing support and retail opportunities. An unpaid volunteer shift in the Thread Together Clothing Hub may be offered to participants who wish to gain further practical experience.
